Frazier Fathers Announces Candidacy for Ward 2 City Councillor

“Let’s Keep the Momentum Going in Windsor’s West End”

Windsor, ON – Community advocate, consultant and longtime west-end resident Frazier Fathers has officially launched his campaign to become the next City Councillor for Ward 2 in the October 27th by-election.

“I am deeply invested in the success of Ward 2,” said Fathers. “I have lived and worked in Ward 2 for over a decade. I own my home here and have been fortunate enough to work and engaged the people and organizations of West Windsor in several roles.”

While at United Way he oversaw funding to numerous West Windsor organization supporting delivering impactful programs to children, youth and seniors. He led consultations on the Gordie Howe Community Benefit Agreement that ensured a community voice shaping millions of dollars of investment. To publishing a report on Income Inequality with five non-profit partners, highlighting the local challenges of income inequality and how it is impacting the housing crisis.  

As a leading policy expert, he has been an advocate on a range of economic and social issues in West Windsor and across the region. He has a deep understanding of how municipal policies impact the community and is ready to hit the ground running.

“Ward two is at a tipping point,” said Fathers. “Several major investments are happening now and we need to keep up that momentum, while at the same time protecting the gains that have been achieved. We have to think ahead to what kind of future we want to build in West Windsor as other big decisions are being planned around the council table this coming year that will impact all of Ward 2.”

Over the coming weeks, as the campaign begins to progress, Frazier is going to be engaging communities and sharing a vision for the future of Ward 2 and how we can ensure the west-side remains the best side of Windsor.
