From the Building Officials:
The buildings are exhibiting progressive failure of multiple structural members, resulting in significant deterioration and instability. In addition, the building envelopes have deteriorated substantially, creating openings that further compromise the structure and allow for unauthorized access. The vacant and derelict buildings are considered to pose an immediate risk to the health and safety of the public, including individuals on or near the properties, as well as those who may gain access to the sites. As such, emergency orders to demolish the buildings have been issued.
Also beyond this there has also been some damage on College Ave to the newly paved sidewalk as a result of the demolitions of houses. This will also be replaced by CTC.

Another Visible Demolition
Beyond the CTC homes, another demolition order was issued in the past few days in Ward 2. It is the building at the corner of Sandwich and South Street. After 10+ years of being vacant and poorly maintained. What began as the façade beginning to fail and the risk collapsing on to the sidewalk, has now escalated into a full demolition. I do not have he specific timeline on the demolition here but orders have been issued to move forward.
